Terms and Conditions for Online Mental Health First Aid Course

By purchasing and enrolling in our online Mental Health First Aid course, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Course Access & Delivery

1.1. The course is delivered online via Zoom.
1.2. Upon successful payment, participants will receive an email confirmation with access details within 36 hours.
1.3. Course materials, including videos, PDFs, and other resources, are for personal educational use only and must not be shared, copied, distributed, or resold.
1.4. Participants are responsible for ensuring they have a stable internet connection and the necessary technology to access the course.
1.5. Torfaen Talks CIC reserves the right to update course content, delivery methods, or schedules as needed.

2. Payments & Refunds

2.1. Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure a place on the course.
2.2. Payments are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of Torfaen Talks CIC. Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to hello@torfaentalkscic.org.uk.
2.3. If you are unable to attend your booked session, you may request to transfer to a future course date by emailing hello@torfaentalkscic.org.uk at least 5 days before the start of the course. Rescheduling requests are subject to availability.
2.4. If a participant fails to attend the course without prior notification, no refund or rescheduling will be offered.

3. Certification & Completion

3.1. A certificate of completion will be issued to participants who successfully complete all required modules and assessments.
3.2. Active participation and engagement in all sessions are required to receive certification.
3.3. If a participant does not meet the completion requirements, they may need to retake parts of the course, subject to additional fees.

3.4. The course is structured in this format:

· Modules 1 - 3 Home Learning (Approx 3 hours) – to be completed prior to the online session.

· Online Session (Approx 3 Hours)

· One week later
Modules 4 - 5 Home Learning (Approx 2 hours) – to be completed prior to the online session.

· Online Session (Approx 2 Hours)
· Certificate available via the online portal

4. Liability & Disclaimer

4.1. The Mental Health First Aid course provides general knowledge and guidance on mental health support. It does not replace professional mental health training, medical advice, or therapy.
4.2. Torfaen Talks CIC and its trainers are not responsible for any actions taken by participants based on course content.
4.3. Participants are encouraged to seek professional advice when dealing with complex mental health situations.

5. Privacy & Data Protection

5.1. Torfaen Talks CIC is committed to protecting your privacy. Personal information collected during registration will only be used for course administration and communication.
5.2. Personal details will not be shared with third parties without the participant’s consent, except as required by law.

6. Code of Conduct

6.1. Participants must engage respectfully, professionally, and in line with course guidelines. Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, or offensive language, will not be tolerated.
6.2. Any participant found to be violating the code of conduct may be removed from the course without a refund.
6.3. Participants are expected to maintain confidentiality regarding any sensitive discussions that take place during the course.

7. Changes & Cancellations

7.1. Torfaen Talks CIC reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or modify course dates due to unforeseen circumstances.
7.2. If Torfaen Talks CIC cancels a course, participants will be offered a full refund or an alternative date.
7.3. In the event of a technical failure or platform issue that disrupts a session, efforts will be made to reschedule or provide alternative access to content.

Mental Health First Aid Competition
Terms and Conditions

Eligibility: This competition is open to Torfaen residents aged 18 and over. Employees of Torfaen Talks CIC and their immediate family members are not eligible.

  1. Entry: To enter, participants must follow the Facebook page, like the post, and comment. Only one entry per person is allowed.

  2. Prize: The winner will receive a space on the Mental Health First Aid course. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

  3. Closing Date: The competition will run from 29.10.24 to 8.11.24 at 5pm. Entries submitted after the closing date will not be considered.

  4. Winner Selection: The winner will be chosen at random and announced on 9.11.24. The winner must respond within 3 days to claim the prize, or another winner will be selected.

  5. Data Usage: By entering, participants consent to their name and entry being used for promotional purposes related to the competition.

  6. Disqualification: Torfaen Talks CIC reserves the right to disqualify any entrant found to be in violation of the terms or engaging in inappropriate behaviour.

  7. Modification: Torfaen Talks CIC reserves the right to amend or cancel the competition at any time without notice.

  8. Platform Disclaimer: This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook.
