We're excited to introduce our 8-week Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course in Torfaen—designed to support mental and emotional well-being. This evidence-based programme helps participants develop healthier relationships with their thoughts and emotions, offering practical tools to manage stress, improve focus, and find calm in everyday life.
Sessions are held weekly at Panteg House, Griffithstown, in a welcoming and supportive setting—ideal for anyone beginning or deepening their mindfulness journey.
Course Summary
The MBCT course is designed to help participants develop healthier ways of relating to their thoughts, emotions, and everyday experiences. It offers practical tools to support mental and emotional well-being.
Course Structure
The course runs over 8 weeks, with weekly 2-hour sessions.
To gain the full benefit, participants are asked to commit to one hour of home practice per day between sessions.
This involves a gentle yet disciplined approach to daily meditation and relaxation, requiring a strong personal commitment to self-development.
What You’ll Learn:
New strategies for managing moods and emotions more effectively.
Self-care techniques to support a fuller, healthier life.
Mindfulness practices that help address physical, mental, emotional, and social challenges.
How to tune into:
Subtle bodily sensations
Your surroundings through physical senses
Your thoughts, emotions, and moods
Skills to stay present with your experiences—pleasant or unpleasant—and respond thoughtfully rather than react automatically.
Ways to relate differently to ongoing difficulties, even if the problems themselves don’t change.
Important Notes
Participating in the course may feel challenging at times. Making space for daily practice often requires changes to your routine.
You may notice increased emotional intensity as you bring mindful attention to difficult experiences. This is a key part of the learning process.
The course is not a space for in-depth discussion of personal issues. If you need support with personal or past challenges, please seek help from a counsellor or appropriate professional.
