How can we improve support for families of children with neurodiverse conditions in Gwent? This session brings together parents and carers to discuss what’s working, what’s missing, and how we can move forward together.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Charlie Cowtan, Clinical Psychologist (Child and Family) Aneurin Bevan University Health Board as our guest speaker. Following the talk, Reach & Torfaen Talks CIC will lead a facilitated discussion where your voice will help shape the future of service provision.

Torfaen Talks CIC, as part of the Gwent Regional Partnership Board's RIF initiative, is developing a regional model for accessible community support. We recognise the significant service gap for adults awaiting neurodivergent (ND) assessment and the need for consistent wellbeing support.

We invite you to participate in a vital consultation session to help us understand and address the lack of affordable, timely emotional and peer support for adults across Gwent.

This is a focused, peer-to-peer discussion to explore the missing pieces of support. We want to hear your ideas on:

  1. What support would you like that you feel is missing right now?

  2. What would this support look like (the 'What' and the 'How')?

  3. Why is this specific support important to you?

Your input is crucial for establishing an evidence base to secure sustainable funding for these services in the long term.

Who Should Attend?

Individuals aged 18 and over who are neurodivergent (e.g., Autistic, ADHD, Dyslexic, Dyspraxic, etc.). or who are currently awaiting a neurodivergent assessment or diagnosis
