Every length represents a life lost to suicide

Our Mystery Mermaid is taking on an incredible challenge: swimming 440 lengths (6.75 miles) during October to create ripples of recovery, pause, and hope.

Why 440 Lengths?

Between April 2024 and March 2025, 440 Welsh residents lost their lives to suspected suicide.

77% of these deaths were men, with the highest rates among males aged 35–44.

Behind every statistic is a human story—a friend, brother, father, or child.

Every suicide deeply affects at least 15 loved ones, leaving thousands in our communities carrying complex grief.
